We are a network of churches, actively partnering with one another, in the hope of giving every man, woman, and child, the repeated opportunity to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. The network itself has a presence in a variety of geographies throughout the United States (Northeast, Midwest, Southeast, Southwest). Methodologically, the Network believes that the idea of giving every man, woman, and child the repeated opportunity to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel will be accomplished through local churches working together with one another with geographic intentionality. Neighborhoods, businesses, hospitals, nursing homes—if these places exist within your designated Jerusalem, it is the responsibility of the local Church to work together to discover ways to give presence, proclamation, and saturation of the Gospel in those domains of geographic influence.
Saturation. The idea of giving every man, woman, and child the repeated opportunity to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel evokes the understanding that a choice comes with opportunity. Not everyone will respond with the acceptance of Christ. That is not something that we control. However, with geographic intentionality, we can be focused on offering repeated opportunities for Gospel encounters. Repeated opportunity does not simply imply proclamation of the Gospel. Conceptually, our missional behavior must involve presence (the intentional relationship building with people that you know do know Jesus Christ as their savior), and proclamation (the willingness of believers to share their grace story with people as they build these intentional relationships with unbelievers). When this happens, we begin to saturate the Jerusalem that God has placed us in (neighborhood, workplace, etc.). As we saturate the geography with intentionality, a natural by-product of this is that there will be people that come to know Christ. Our mark is saturation. The by-product is conversion.
As of current, Renovation Network is comprised of over 600 churches throughout the United States. As we have continued to grow and partner with other local churches in designated geographies, some interesting things have happened. First, local church partnerships have grown to a level where honest conversation and conflict has deepened our commitment with one another to those in our geography that do not yet know Christ as Lord. Second, a tangible expression of such partnership in some geographies has been that we have planted other churches in joint ventureship with one another. Third, as churches have gathered and worked together through the Renovation Material of Dr. Dwight Smith, church leaders have begun the process of shaping the DNA of their lay leadership, focusing them on the challenge of saturating their Jerusalem with repeated opportunities to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Finally, as the DNA has been set in the local church, the Network has been committed to asking if their church has changed the trajectory of their missional behavior with those outside the church.
